India opener Rohit Sharma has condemned the devastating terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.

The whole country was left in utter shock when the terrorists targeted a CRPF convoy on Thursday. In one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir’s three decades of militancy, a suicide bomber from the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror group rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a CRPF bus in Pulwama district, killing at least 39 personnel and leaving many critically wounded.

The bus was on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Lethpora town, about 30 km from Srinagar when the attack took place. The entire nation is in a state of shock as well as furious following the gruesome attack. And Rohit Sharma’s tweet perfectly summed up how every Indian is feeling right now after losing their brave compatriots.

The opening batsman took to Twitter to condemn the attack, rightly calling the terrorists coward before paying his tribute to the jawans and their families. He also urged his countrymen to keep the martyrs in their prayers, writing:

“Shocked and horrified by what happened #Pulwama. The day we all celebrated love some cowards spread hatred. Thinking about the jawans and their families. India keep them in your prayers.”

Rohit, meanwhile, is not the only cricketer to condemn the attack. Players, present and past, have taken to their social media accounts to slam the heinous act.  The likes of VVS Laxman, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina and Mohammed Kaif also took to Twitter to send their condolences to the families of the martyrs.

“Sad and pained to hear about the dastardly attack on our brave CRPF men in #Pulwama in which many of our jawans have been martyred. I pray for a quick and speedy recovery of those injured in the attack,”  Laxman wrote on Twitter.
