Dhoni should bar at 5: Tendulkar

Meanwhile, the Men in Blues have played some good cricket in the last two years and enters the tournament as the second-ranked ODI team after England. In the past two years, the Virat Kohli-led side have defeated the likes of South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand at their home. However, their recent snubbing against the Aussies raised questions about their team combination. The middle order has looked unsettled, and the management will have to ponder over it.

Amidst all the conundrum, Sachin Tendulkar feels MS Dhoni should bat at 5. The former cricketer went with Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan as the opening pair followed by Virat Kohli at 3; however, Tendulkar couldn’t settle the no 4 debate.

“My personal opinion is Dhoni should be batting five. I still don’t know what the team combination would be, but if you are going Rohit and Shikhar as openers, to Virat (Kohli) at number 3 and whoever at number 4 then Dhoni could be No. 5,” ESPN Cricinfo quoted Tendulkar.

Furthermore, Sachin Tendulkar believes that Hardik Pandya should follow, considering that he can exploit the death overs. Pandya has been in terrific form in the recently concluded IPL and will look to keep up the good work.

Tendulkar picks his semifinalist candidate

Besides, Sachin Tendulkar also picked the teams he believes will go into the semi-finals of the premier tournament. Tendulkar feels India along with England and Australia, and one between New Zealand and Pakistan should be the four semifinal contenders.

“India, England, Australia should be in the semis. The fourth could be one of New Zealand or Pakistan,” he concluded.
