Sri Lanka has suffered a huge blow before their fourth match against Bangladesh. The Island nation bowler in form Nuwan Pradeep has been ruled out of the next match against Bangladesh with a dislocated finger. Pradeep endured the injury while practising and got his little finger injured of the right-hand.
Nuwan Pradeep was trying to protect his face from a straight shot from the batsman in the practice session. However, he injured his little finger in the process and will not take part in the next match.
Big blow for Sri Lanka.
This is a big blow for the Sri Lankan team as Nuwan Pradeep was bowling with fire. Pradeep had scalped four wickets against Afghanistan and had impressed with his pace and bounce. Thus, the right-arm pacer was awarded the Man of the match against the Afghan team. Sri Lanka had won their second match against Afghanistan by 34 runs
Pradeep had scalped 4-31 and he is going to be missed for the next match. Lasith Malinga had also scalped three wickets. Sri Lanka will face Bangladesh in their fourth match of the ongoing ICC Wolrd Cup at County Ground, Bristol on June 16.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s third match against Pakistan was called off due to rain without a ball been bowled. Sri Lanka had lost their first match against New Zealand by 10 wickets.
In fact, the Island nation had their backs against the wall against Afghanistan as they were skittled out for 201 runs. However, an inspiring bowling performance from their fast bowlers helped them register a 34 runs win.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka will aim to come up with the complete performance against Bangladesh. Bangladesh has lost their last two matches and they would be desperate to get a win under their belt in the next match against Sri Lanka.
