England and Australia will go up against each other in a mouth-watering clash at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground on June 25 (Tuesday) in this ongoing ICC World Cup 2019. The rivalry dates back to many decades ago, and no player will give an inch to the oppositions. As they gear up for the epic, English cricketer, Alex Hales has hailed Australia’s new ball bowlers – Mitchell Starch and Pat Cummins.

Cummins gave me nightmares: Hales

Meanwhile, Hales was a part of England’s 15-member World Cup team. However, after failing to clear a drug test, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) withdrew his name from the squad and replaced him with James Vince. But Alex Hales returned to play for his county and seems to be in the right space now after taking a significant break from the top level cricket. Although he is not a part of the all-important clash, Hales seemed excited for the intense battle between the arch-rivals.

Alex Hales, while talking about the game, urged the England batters to be wary of Australia’s new ball bowlers – Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins. The duo has been in scintillating form in this World Cup so far and will look to shed fire against the host who have dominated them in recent times. Hales also revealed that Cummins has given him nightmares in the past.

“I think Mitchell Starc and Cummins both are very different bowlers and they work so well in tandem. I’ve had nightmares facing Cummins in the past. I think he has got me out four times and I’ve scored three runs. So I’m averaging 0.75 against him,” Alex Hales said in a video chat for Sky Sports.

Alex Hales will hope that the England batsmen put up a good show against Australia’s opening bowlers and secure a much-needed victory to keep themselves going in the World Cup. England, fresh from a defeat against Sri Lanka, is badly in need for a win as they approach the business end of the tournament.
