Bangladesh talisman batsman Tamim Iqbal is a doubtful starter for their opening match against South Africa which will take place at Kennington Oval, London on June 2. Tamim has suffered an injury on the practice on Friday. The left-handed batsman came out of nets after sustaining the injury on his left wrist when he was batting in the nets.
Tamim Iqbal was immediately rushed to the dressing room along with physio Thian Chandramohan. Consequently, there are dark clouds over the participation of the southpaw batsman.
Bangladesh’s injury woes continue to manifold.
“It’s too early to say anything specific but we will have an x-ray and if there is a fracture, then he won’t be available (for the match against South Africa). But if that is not the case, then we can hope he will be available for the opening game,” selector Habibul Bashar, who is accompanying the team, said on Friday.
