The Zing bails are making headlines more often than not. The bails once again refused to come off when Jasprit Bumrah got an inside edge of David Warner’s bat that deflected on to the stumps. However, the bails were once again adamant to leave the stumps which left the Indian seamer and the team flabbergasted.

In fact, this is not the first time when the zing bails have not come off. We have now seen so many occasions when the ball has struck the stumps but the bails have not come off. Furthermore, a similar incident happened in yesterday’s match between England and Bangladesh. Ben Stokes had hit the stumps but the bails didn’t lose its connection with the stumps.
ICC should come with a solution.
This was the 5th instance when the bails were stubborn to leave the stumps in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019. Meanwhile, similar incidents were common during the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League. In fact, it should be noted that the zing bails weigh heavier than the normal wooden bails. The zing bails weigh around 150 grams which is way more than the wooden bails.
Consequently, the ICC must take into account this issue of zing bails and the governing body should come up with an alternative solution.
Meanwhile, India came up with a fine batting performance after Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first. The Men in Blue posted a gargantuan score of 352 runs. Shikhar Dhawan scored a fine knock of 117 runs from 109. The southpaw scored 16 fours in his innings. On the other hand, Virat Kohli scored 82 runs whereas Rohit Sharma scored 57 to continue his good form going.

Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni added the finishing touches to the Indian innings. Pandya smashed 48 runs from 27 balls whereas Dhoni clobbered 27 runs from 14 balls.
Here is how Twitter reacted:
The bails didn't move. Harsh on the bowler. There has to be the new rule in play for that.#INDvAUS

Everything else can wait for @ICC but not sorting these bails thing. It cannot keep happening. No manufacture's call here.

If bails don't come off any more then surely LBWs are now redundant.

How many times in this @cricketworldcup has the ball hit the stumps and the bails have not been dislodged? Time for a rethink on the “all singing & dancing stumps!” #INDvAUS #CricketWorldCup2019 @ProfDeano @TomMoodyCricket @Edged_and_taken @sanjaymanjrekar

I understand that the electronics in the stumps and the bails make them heavier. Why can’t the groove the bails sit in just be made shallower? Won’t that fix the problem? https://t.co/MXfLWjgHqi

What is this stupid @ICC rule! In my building, the batsman is out if the ball hits the stumps, irrespective of anything falling off or not. pic.twitter.com/XIxADAsSMx

More technology needed to sort the bails problem out. That was a solid hit.#CWC19 #AUSvsIND #batteriestooheavy #bails
