Indian National Cricket Team will begin their ICC World Cup 2019 campaign tomorrow at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton against South Africa. Meanwhile, it will be an outstanding opportunity for India to start on a winning note as South Africa will be coming from two consecutive defeats. As India gear up to take the field, star spinner Kuldeep Yadav has hailed skipper Virat Kohli for putting a lot of trusts on the spinners.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav has come to England on the back of a poor IPL with the Kolkata Knight Riders. He went wicketless and gave away too many runs which forced the management to bench him. However, with the blue jersey on, the young spinner is back at his best picking three wickets in the last warm-up game against Bangladesh. Kuldeep finished 2018 as the highest wicket-taker in the world with 48 wickets from 19 matches and will be a crucial stakeholder in this lineup.

Kuldeep Yadav admitted that skipper Virat Kohli has always shown trust on him and Yuzvendra Chahal. Kohli; however, time and again has called the young spin duo as the game changers. Kuldeep also revealed that the Indian skipper is okay with giving away a few extra runs till you are chipping in with wickets.

“Virat has always had belief in Chahal and me,” Kuldeep told cricket website ESPNcricinfo. “He believes both of us can take wickets at any time in a match, that we can change the game at any time.

“He tells us that even if we go for five or 10 runs extra, it’s not an issue as long as we’re getting wickets. He trusts us, gives us the freedom to bowl the way we want to. He just says, ‘I want wickets,”’ Kuldeep added.

Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have taken a combined 77 wickets in the past 12 months, six more than India’s pace trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami. With England producing flat wickets, Kuldeep and Chahal will be crucial to India’s success in the ICC World Cup 2019.
