India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami is bowling with fire in the ongoing World Cup. Shami is playing only his second match of the World Cup and he has already scalped six wickets. The gun pacer bowled a peach of a delivery to dismiss Shai Hope. Shami who is well known to keep the position of his seam up-right got the ball to nip back into the right-hander to hit the top of off-stump.
Shami was also able to get the better of dangerous man Chris Gayle. The left-hander was trying to play a big shot but could not get his timing right against Shami. Thus, the ball spooned for a simple catch to Kedar Jadhav at mid-on.
Shami has been brilliant.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami had also scalped a hat-trick against Afghanistan. Shami was able to get the better of Mohammad Nabi, Aftab Alam and Mujeeb Ur Rahman. That was the 10th hat-trick of the World Cup history and the first one of this edition. Shami had snared four wickets in the match against Afghanistan.
On the other hand, India was able to post a fighting score of 268 runs after skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first. India could not get off to a good start as they lost the wicket of Rohit Sharma early.
Virat Kohli was able to score a good knock of 72 runs as he continued his dream form going. Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni were able to add the finishing touches.
Pandya bludgeoned 46 runs from 38 balls laced with five fours whereas MS Dhoni took his time in the initial phase. Dhoni was able to change gears as he scored 56 runs from 61 balls with the three fours and two sixes.
India is looking good to make their way into the final four and their next match is against England.
