India’s former skipper Sourav Ganguly shared a great camaraderie with his opening partner Sachin Tendulkar. Ganguly and Sachin shared some of the best memories while opening the batting for India. Consequently, Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar are known to be the best of friends both on and off the field.
Meanwhile, Sourav Ganguly took a dig at Sachin Tendulkar in the commentary box. Ganguly said that Sachin used to bat with a heavier bat and he mostly batted on flat decks which him more successful than him.
Here is the conversation between Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh:
Harbhajan Singh: What was the difference between you and Sachin Tendulkar, that makes Sachin better?
Sourav Ganguly: See, he used a heavy bat.
Virender Sehwag: But Dada you also had a heavier bat.
Sourav Ganguly – Yes, it used to be heavy but not like Tendulkar.
HS – Dada, was there any difference in the technique or mindset – because other legends have also played alongside him but they could not achieve what Sachin got in his career.
SG – See, he used to have a heavier bat and played on the flat decks in ODI format. He used to open and played decently in his career.
