IND vs SL 2017: Rohit Sharma Gets Emotional About Leading India For the First Time

India defeated Sri Lanka 2-1 in the three-match ODI series on Sunday. It was India’s ninth consecutive ODI series win and first under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
The Mumbai batsman was appointed as the captain of the Indian team for the limited-overs series in the absence of Virat Kohli, who got rested.

Rohit has been impressive leading the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and his first outing as the captain of the Indian team was no less. In the second ODI in Mohali, Rohit recreated history, as he hit his third ODI double hundred in ODI’s.

No other batsman had ever scored two double hundred in the limited-overs format, and the Indian opener now has three to his name. Rohit on Monday tweeted a picture of himself caring the team sheet for the first time for the toss. He wrote,
“A day that I will remember for the rest of my life.Walking out with the team sheet for the 1st time was a feeling of it’s own which can never be measured or compared with anything.Proud to be playing with the guys who have such great skill set & work ethic. Cannot be more happier.”
