The FIFA World Cup is less than a year away, and its fever has already begun to grip the fans all over the world.
With most of the major European teams already qualifying for the mega event, fans in India are starting to pick their favourites for the tournament.
However, one of the favourites to win the World Cup, Italy failed to qualify for the tournament, as they lost to Sweden 1-0 on aggregate on Monday.
Indian cricketers love to play football in their practice sessions and also play FIFA on play station during their free time. Indian cricketers in the past have shown their support for their favourite football clubs, Virat Kohli is a huge Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo fan, while MS Dhoni is a Manchester United fan. Rahul Dravid and Gautam Gambhir are an Arsenal fan, and Rohit Sharma supports Real Madrid.
However, just a day after the third year anniversary of his second double hundred Rohit Sharma has chosen the team he is going to support in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He tweeted a picture of him wearing the new home jersey of Spain. He wrote,
“Just received my Spain 2018 FIFA World Cup Home jersey. La Roja are going to blast their way to the World Cup! HERETOCREATE @SEFutbol”

Rohit has been picked for the first two Tests against Sri Lanka and will be hoping to make a return to the playing XI, having last played in Tests a year ago against New Zealand.
Rohit has struggled to make a mark for himself in the Test format and has played only 21 Test for India scoring 1184 runs at an average of 37. The series will begin on 16th November with the first Test to be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata which also tends to be one of the happy hunting grounds for Rohit Sharma.
