India A vs England Lions, 2nd Unofficial Test, Mysore - Match Review

Mayank Markande, who earned his maiden call-up for Australia T20Is, was the star of the second unofficial match between India A and England Lions. The leg-spinner took five wickets in the second innings and helped India A win the game by an innings and 68 runs. KL Rahul, the under-fire batsman, guided his team to win the two-match series 1-0. He scored 81 runs in the first innings; Rahul hit 89 in the first innings of the first unofficial Test. Besides, opener, Abhimanyu Easwaran hit a brilliant 117.
The top-order dominated England Lions in Mysore
After England Lion held the hosts for a draw in the first unofficial Test, they aim to come back strong in the following game; which didn’t happen as India A won the match convincingly. They batted first after winning the toss and were off to a solid start. Both KL Rahul and Abhimanyu Easwaran shared 178 runs for the first wicket before Zak Chappell struck gold for the Lions.
Priyank Panchal, who starred with the bat in the previous game scored yet another fifty. As Abhimanyu completed his hundred (117 off 222), Dominic Bess had the better of him. Later, only Srikar Bharat, the wicketkeeper-batsman could pile runs, as India A’s first innings got wrapped on 392.
Pacers, spinners walk over visitors to seal series
The England Lions couldn’t jam their feet on the ground in the first innings. The Pacers, Varun Aaron and Navdeep Saini, shared five wickets before the spinners cleared the tail. Ollie Pope was their highest run-scorer, hitting 25 off 30 balls. Meanwhile, the India A bowlers took a mere 48 overs to end their innings on 144.
Trailing by 248 in the second innings, their batsmen didn’t do anything different from the first innings. The only difference was the bowler at the other end, Mayank Markande. The young leg-spinner took five wickets in the second innings and helped KL Rahul-led team win the match by an innings and 68 runs.
