Team India blew Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs in the first Test within three days to go 1-0 up in the two-match series. With two days in hand, the host will remain in Indore to train under the lights to gear up for the historic day-night Test. The Tigers have also planned to do the same in a bid to produce strong resistance in the last match of the tour.

Virat Kohli & Co bowled out Bangladesh for 150 and 213 runs to complete their third consecutive innings victory. The bowlers did a spectacular job especially Mohammed Shami, who returned with seven wickets to lead India’s bowling. Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav also did a great job along with Ravichandran Ashwin.

On the other, Mayank Agarwal stood out with the bat with his second double hundred only in his eighth Test. India took a massive first-innings lead of 343 runs before bowling out Bangladesh for the second time, to take the game home within three days at the Holkar Cricket Stadium.

With two days in hand, Team India have decided to stay back and utilise their time training under lights for the historic Test match. Bangladesh have also decided the same in a bid to get the hang of the pink ball. Both sides will be playing their first day-night Test. Over the next two days, the Indian team’s focus will be on what is being called as “twilight zone”, something that cricketers who have played with the pink ball, have acknowledged to be very challenging.

“We will specifically train during the twilight because we still don’t know what the ball will do during that particular phase,” a source close to the team management told PTI.

Many players including Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravichandran Ashwin have stated their apprehensions with day-night Test. While Ashwin said that the pink ball looked like an orange one, Pujara noted that the twilight zone can be tricky for the batsmen.

The second and the final Test match of the series between India and Bangladesh will commence from November 22 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
