India Far Better Than Pakistan, Says Kapil Dev Ahead Of Marquee Clash

Legendary Kapil Dev has said India are a ‘far better’ side than Pakistan ahead of the marquee clash between the two sides. India and Pakistan will lock horns in the World Cup clash on June 16 in Manchester. The Men in Blue are once again favourites for the clash. Having never lost to Pakistan in six World Cup clashes, India look very much on their way to extend their winning run.
India are two of the only unbeaten teams in the ongoing World Cup. The two-time champions have so far defeated South Africa and Australia. Their third clash against New Zealand was washed out. On the other hand, Pakistan have managed to win just one of their four games so far. A defeat against India could very well end Pakistan’s hopes of progressing ahead.

And as both the arch-rivals gear up to take on each other, Kapil Dev has said India have the upper hand at the moment.
“The Indian team is definitely far better. I am not saying because I am Indian. But I feel when I was playing the Pakistan team was much better than us. Today I can say that if they play 10 matches, India will win seven. What will happen that day God knows. I hope the players play to the best of their potential,” Kapil Dev told reporters.
He further lavished praise on India skipper Virat Kohli who is eyeing to become just the third India skipper to lift the World Cup.
“I do not think so that I can compare myself with him, he is really good, he is number one player in the world and we are proud of our captain,” he said.

The former India allrounder also had some words of praise for Jasprit Bumrah who is in stunning form at the moment. He also hoped that the pacer remains fit for another five years.
“When I saw him (Bumrah) for the first time, I did not expect him to have such an ability. I changed my word and I say, God, he is really fantastic. From such a short run-up he can produce, with an awkward action, such pace. It is not easy. I just want him to be fit for the next five years,” Dev said.
