India U-19 Batter Pawan Shah Breaks 11-Year-Old Record With His Double Hundred

India U-19 batsman Pawan Shah scored his maiden double hundred in second Youth Test against Sri Lanka Un as the visitor’s piled up a huge score in their first innings.
As a result, Pawan shattered the record of the highest score by an Indian batsman in the Youth Test. He went on to surpass Tanmay Srivastava’s 220 against Pakistan which he racked up on September 13, 2006.
Moreover, Pawan joins an elite list of Indian batsmen to score double-centuries in Youth Test. Apart from Srivastava, the list also includes southpaw Gautam Gambhir, Cheteshwar Pujara, Abhinav Mukund and Vinayak Mane.
Pawan completed his double-century with the help of a boundary. He carried on with the celebration by hitting six boundaries in a single over of EKV Perera.
The young batsman scored 38 runs in the first Youth Test on the Sri Lanka tour. Ayush Badoni came close to scoring a double century but ran out of partners in the first Youth Test.
Moreover, Badoni scored an unbeaten 185. Opener Atharwa Taide too came close to the milestone but lost his wicket at 177.
Indian young team is also on their way to register the highest score in an innings in Youth Test.
In conclusion, at the lunch break, India U-19 amassed 550 runs for the loss of four wickets against Sri Lanka on the scoreboard after magnificent unbeaten double hundred (241) from Pawan Shah.
