Out of favour leg-spinner Amit Mishra made the most of his stay in Bengaluru. The leg-spinner, who is currently at National Cricket Academy (NCA) made sure to catch up with his Team India teammates a day ahead of the fourth ODI against Australia in the Garden City.

Mishra had become a regular in the Indian team during the last home season before an unfortunate injury saw him losing his place. The right-arm spinner, who starred with the ball during his last ODI series which came against New Zealand last year, suffered an injury during third and final T20I against England early this year before being ruled out of one-off Test match against Bangladesh. He was later replaced by chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav and the team has persisted with the left-arm spinner.

Any chances of returning to the team, nevertheless, is looking bleak as of now for Mishra. While Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are an indispensable part of the Test team, making it nearly impossible for any other spinner to break into the team, the selectors have tried out the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep and Axar Patel in limited-overs format.  However, considering the past when Mishra had to fight for his place in the playing eleven every time despite being one of the best spinners in the domestic circuit, no one can write him off.

The 34-year old is currently gearing up to represent Haryana in the upcoming Ranji Trophy and will be looking to make a big impression. He is expected to lead the side which boasts the likes of  Jayant Yadav and Mohit Sharma. Haryana will open their season against Cheteshwar Pujara-led Saurashtra in Lahli from October 6 to 9.
