India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has joined the elite list of players. Jadeja completed his 2000 ODI runs when he scored 10 runs in the ongoing second One Day International against Australia. Thus, the Saurashtra all-rounder became the third Indian player to score 2000 ODI runs and take more than 150 wickets in 50-overs format. Jadeja has 171 wickets under his belt in 149 matches.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja could only score 21 runs off 40 balls in the ongoing second match against Australia. On the other hand, former Indian skipper Kapil Dev and legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar are the other two players who had picked more than 150 wickets and scored more than 2000 runs simultaneously.

Jadeja joins an elite list.

Sachin Tendulkar had scored 18426 runs and scalped 154 wickets in the 50-overs format in his illustrious career. On the other hand, the Wolrd Cup winning captain Kapil Dev had scored 3783 runs in 131 matches and scalped 253 wickets in his ODI career.

Meanwhile, India was skittled out for 250 runs against Australia. Indian skipper Virat Kohli continued his love affair of yielding out runs as he scored his 40th ODI hundred. Kohli also completed his 9000 International runs as Indian captain. The talisman right-hander took only 159 innings, as he becomes the fastest to get to the landmark.

India’s all-rounder Vijay Shankar looked fluent as the right-hander scored a brisk knock of 46 runs off 41 balls. However, Shankar didn’t have the rub off the green on his side as he was run out when Adam Zampa got fingertips to the ball and the non-striker had backed too far away from the crease.

On the other hand, Australia’s premier fast bowler Pat Cummins was the pick of the Australian bowlers. The gun fast bowler scalped four wickets and gave away only 29 runs in his nine overs.

Cricket is my first love. I want to be a wordsmith. I want to weave magic with my words.
