India’s rookie leg-spinner Mayank Markande has earned his maiden India cap in India vs Australia first T20I set to be played at Vishakhapatnam. Markande has become the 79th Indian T20I player. On the other hand, Peter Handscomb makes his T20I debut for the Australian team. Meanwhile, Mayank Markande has impressed in the domestic circuit which has helped him earn the India call.
The leg-spinner who hails from Punjab had impressed with his skills in the Indian Premier League 2018. Markande had scalped 15 wickets in 14 matches of the 11th season of the league. In fact, at one stage he was the leading wicket-taker in the season. He had also scalped the big wicket of MS Dhoni, who was in great form in IPL 2018.

Markande has impressive skills.
Meanwhile, Mayank Markande is still taking baby steps in his young career. He has played seven first-class matches for Punjab in which he has scalped 34 wickets at an average of 21.26.

Markande has played 22 List A matches in which the leg-spinner has taken 45 wickets. He has bowled with an impressive average of 19.97. The greenhorn spinner has taken 20 wickets in the 18 T20 matches. Markande has a lot of variations under his belt and he has a potent goggly which helps him in bamboozling the batsmen.

Consequently, Markande will like to impress in his maiden outing in the Indian colors. It is a dream come true moment for him and he would like to hit the ground running.
On the other hand, India and Australia will seek the remaining pieces in the World Cup squad. India has covered most of the bases but they will like to give more opportunities to their bench strength. The ODI and T20I series against Australia is the last limited-overs series for India before the World Cup.
Here is how Twitter welcome Mayank Markande into the T20I squad:
Picking up MS Dhoni's wicket takes you places.
Congratulations, Mayank! 😀

Mayank Markandey debuts. Slightly surprising to see Shankar not making it to the XI…especially in the absence of Hardik Pandya. Rahul plays….assuming he’ll be batting in the middle-order. #IndvAus @StarSportsIndia
