India vs Australia 2019: Watch - Rohit Sharma's Direct Hit Pleases Virat Kohli

Indian skipper Virat Kohli was pleased by Rohit Sharma’s direct hit. On the second ball of the seventh over, Peter Handscomb drove the ball towards the cover region. India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma flicked the ball towards the non-striker’s end and he was able to hit the bullseye. Subsequently, KL Rahul went on to juggle with the ball. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli was impressed with the throw and gestured to Rohit Sharma.

Kohli signalled to Sharma that he must have played with marbles in his childhood days. Meanwhile, India posted 358 runs after Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first.

Kohli was happy with Rohit’s fielding.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma gave a solid foundation to the Indian team as the talisman openers added 193 runs. Dhawan was able to get back into form as he scored a majestic knock of 143 runs off just 115 balls. The southpaw batsman scored 18 fours and three sixes in his blistering knock. The left-hander scored his 16th ODI hundred as he batted at the top of his game.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma took his time in the initial phase of the innings. The flamboyant scored a fine knock of 95 runs off 92 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes. This was the 40th ODI fifty for Rohit Sharma.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli had a rare off day with the bat as he scored only seven runs. However, KL Rahul who was promoted to the number three position failed to get going.

Rishabh Pant scored 36 off just 24 balls with the help of four fours and one six. Vijay Shankar also played a little cameo of 26 runs off just 15 balls with help of one four and two sixes.

Meanwhile, Australia is currently 181-2 in 31 overs and they need another 178 runs from 112 balls.
