India vs Australia 3rd ODI: Twitter Reacts As Indian Bowlers Strike Back To Restrict Australia
Updated - 22 May 2019, 06:22 PM
Comeback man Aaron Finch scored a brilliant century but Australia failed to finish their innings on a strong note as India clawed its way back into the game by restricting the visitors to 293 for 6 in the third One-Day International at Indore.
After Steve Smith won the toss and decided to bat first, David Warner and Finch proved his decision right by adding 70 runs for the first wicket before the former was clean bowled by Hardik Pandya. Finch and Smith then laid the platform for a big total by adding 154 runs for the second wicket. The huge partnership was broken when Finch hit a Kuldeep Yadav delivery straight to Kedar Jadhav at deep mid-wicket. The opening batsman hit 124 off 125 balls including 12 fours and 5 sixes.
However, Australia could not capitalise on the string platform and lost wickets at regular intervals after Finch’s departure. From 242 for 3, they were reduced to 260 for 6 with the likes of Smith, Glenn Maxwell and Travis Head back in the hut. With wickets falling from one end, Marcus Stoinis held firm from end and played a crucial knock of 27 runs to guide his team to a challenging on a pitch which has been backed to produce a high-scoring game.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the innings.
Top catch from Manish Pandey. But how calmly was it done. This Indian side fields really well

Everything that England did wrong in ODIs in 1990s and 2000s, Australia following it now.

Irrespective of extras and slip ups in field, good job by team India to restrict Aussies below 300. #IndvAus

Aaron Finch is like some sort of super-Hilton Cartwright. Hard to think of higher praise than that. #INDvAUS
