It was a brilliant first inning of play for Indian National Cricket Team at Bay Oval. All the batsmen came to the party to knock runs for India and put a massive total on the board. In between, Ambati Rayudu suffered a painful blow on his back when he failed to put himself out of the throw from the deep to the wicketkeeper.

It was Trent Boult, who delivered a powerful throw from the deep to the keeper, Tom Latham. But, in between, Ambati Rayudu was strangled, who has got no other way rather than taking the blow. The blow seemed like a painful one, as Rayudu took a couple of minutes to get himself back to his zone.

India scored 324 in 50 overs:

Coming to the first innings of the play, it was India, who won the toss and asked the home side to bowl first. Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma put on a brilliant show, as they added a massive 154-run partnership for the first wicket.

However, unfortunately, both missed out on scoring centuries, as Trent Boult send Shikhar Dhawan while Lockie Ferguson got rid of Rohit Sharma. Then, it was the turn of Virat Kohli and Ambati Rayudu, who added a 61-run partnership for the 3rd wicket.

Despite Virat Kohli and Rayudu batted for a healthy period of time in the middle, they failed to boost the run rate of the team. Then it was Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who started the things slowly but picked up in the later part to knock an unbeaten 48* off 33 balls.

Kedar Jadhav has played the killer innings at the end, who garnered 22 runs off just 10 balls. Earlier, Rohit Sharma scored 87 while Shikhar Dhawan knocked 66. Virat Kohli has 43 on the board with Rayudu scoring 47.

For New Zealand, Trent Boult and Lockie Ferguson are the only bowlers, who bagged wickets in the bowling column. They both chipped in with a couple of wickets to their name.
