India vs West Indies 2019: 1st ODI, Mumbai – Match Prediction; It was nothing short of a spectacle when India thrashed West Indies in the T20I decider to clinch the series by 2-1. Following a nail-biting T20I series, the cricketing action shifts to the ODI series with the first match scheduled to play at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on December 15th.

Both the teams have all the tools to get better off the other, and it would be quite interesting to see which team is executing their plans to take the lead in the three-match series. For India, it was good to see Rohit Sharma returning to sublime form when he pitched in with a 34-ball-71 on the back of 6 fours and five sixes.

Rohit Sharma will be at the cynosure of the fans’ eyes as he will be looking forward to carrying out the impetus in the ODI series. India’s run-machine Virat Kohli needs no further introduction as he is destined to touch the pinnacle of success in whichever format he plays.

The other positives for the team are KL Rahul and Shivam Dube as they showed promising signs in the shorter format. Shreyas Iyer has made an indelible mark while coming in at no.4 and even many experts believe that he is the solution to team’s no.4 conundrum. Rishabh Pant has not been in good form at the moment. He is working hard to earn the trust of the fans.

India’s bowling unit will be tested once again in the Chennai ODI because they were tonked to all parts of the ground by West Indies’ batsmen in the just-concluded T20I series.

On the contrary, West Indies would be absolutely gutted with how things turned out in the T20I series in India. They showed that they are capable of causing problems to India, but they failed to beat the hosts. Opener Evin Lewis and southpaw Shimron Hetmyer are in brilliant form for the team while Nicholas Pooran came through with flying colours with the bat. West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard too is in sensational form with the bat.

On the downside, they have to come up with a good plan with the ball as their bowling department needs to be sorted out ahead of the ODI opener.

The Chennai weather might play spoilsport tomorrow and according to the weather forecast department, there is a 5% chance of rainfall during the day time and 56 per cent probability of rains in the evening. Usually, in Chennai, the pitch has been low and slow, and the spinners have the upper hand.

India vs West Indies 2019: 1st ODI Match Prediction:

The pitch would make it tough for batsmen looking to play strokes. However, there are sufficient players in both teams to go for big shots. India have a fantastic record in playing ODIs at home and there is no doubt that India will enter the game as clear-cut favourites to win the game.
