Indian pacer Shardul Thakur had injured himself after he delivered the fourth ball of his second over. Thus, BCCI gave an update on Shardul Thakur’s injury. The Mumbai pacer’s debut, however, did not go as per the plan as the player had to leave the field after bowling just ten deliveries. Thakur looked in great discomfort even after receiving some on-field treatment by Indian team physio Patrick Farhat.

Meanwhile, after Prithvi Shaw in the opening Test, Shardul Thakur earned the Test cap in the second Test against Windies. However, Thakur became the 294th Test player in Indian cricket history. In fact, he has a history of breaking down with injuries as he had returned home after complaining of a hip injury.

It had happened during the recently concluded Asia Cup. Thakur picked up the damage after the win against Hong Kong in India’s tournament opener.

Shardul Thakur becomes the fifth player to make a debut for India in Tests in 2018.

Meanwhile, Windies played some excellent cricket on the first day of the second Test match against India. Roston Chase played as he scored an unbeaten 98 runs. Windies skipper Jason Holder also made a good comeback and scored his eighth half-century in Test matches. Chase will have to wait till tomorrow morning to make his career’s fourth ton.

In addition to that, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reported that Shardul Thakur has gone for scans and they are still waiting for the reports. He will be under supervision for the next few days, and after that, they will decide accordingly about his participation.

West Indies were able to score 295-7 at end of the day’s one play.
