India was able to thump Windies by a huge margin of 224 runs to take an impregnable lead of 2-1 in the series. This was India’s third-biggest win in terms of runs. The team Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first. The hosts were able to post a huge total of 377 runs after Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu scored hundreds.

India’s deputy Rohit Sharma scored his 21st ODI hundred as he batted in the topmost gear. The flamboyant right-hander took his time initially and then attacked the opposition bowlers. Rohit went on to smash 20 fours and four maximums in his blistering knock. In fact, this was Rohit Sharma’s seven score of more than 150 runs.

Dominating performance from the hosts.

Furthermore, the right-hander batted with aplomb as he found the gaps to perfection. Rohit had also scored a fine knock of unbeaten 152 in the first match of the five-match series. Thus, Rohit continued with his penchant of scoring daddy hundreds as he batted at the top of his game.

Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan were dismissed under 17 overs. Therefore, the onus was on India’s vice-captain to carry the team forward.

On the other hand, Ambati Rayudu also went on to score his third hundred. The right-hander scored his century in just 80 balls. Rayudu is slowly but surely cementing his number four slot in the team.

Meanwhile, Windies were not able to come up with a good batting performance. The visitors crumbled like a house of cards as they could only manage 153 runs in their batting innings. However, Jason Holder was the lone warrior as the Windies captain scored his seventh fifty.

In fact, the tourists kept on losing wickets at regular intervals to succumb under the pressure of mountain of runs put up by India.

India’s rookie southpaw fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed bowled with venom. Ahmed was able to hit the right areas and got the ball to move of the pitch. Thus, the left-hander bowled with his tail-up and bowled with all the zest.

On the other hand, Windies lost two wickets via the run-out. Furthermore, they lost their inform batsman Shai Hope by the brilliance of Virat Kohli. Moreover, Shimron Hetmyer was plumbed in front by Khaleel Ahmed.
