Cricket West Indies has announced their squad for the three-match T20I series. Some big names have once again missed out whereas some others have made their way back. The Windies will be led by their T20I skipper Carlos Brathwaite. Meanwhile, the team also includes big players like Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell.

However, there is no place for Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo. In fact, the all-rounder was expected to be part of the T20I series. Bravo had led Trinbago Knight Riders to their second successive title in the Carribean Premier League. Hence, he was expected to be part of the squad.

In fact, Chris Gayle has sadly declined the selection for the series against India. However, Gayle has made himself available for the series against England, which will be played in the home conditions.

Meanwhile, Darren Bravo has returned to the Windies squad. Darren had last played for the Windies in October-November in 2016. Thus, he will come back after a gap of two years.

Furthermore, Oshane Thomas had received his maiden call-up in the Windies squad. The fast bowler had impressed in the Carribean Premier League as he had scalped 18 wickets.

“With the 2020 ICC World T20 two years away and the limited amount of T20 Internationals within the next year, the panel believes at this juncture it is time to invest in the young players that have emerged over the last two years from Windies A and B teams, along with 2018 CPL,” chairman of selection panel Courtney Browne said.

Here is the Windies squad for the T20I series.
