The wait is over for Prithvi Shaw, and he is already up and going at Rajkot against the Windies. The flamboyant batsman has made the giant strides in the Indian cricket to make his Test debut for India. Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw’s father has followed the superstition to watch his son’s debut game from home.

However, the Mumbaikar had received his maiden call-up for Tests against England. However, he didn’t get the chance to represent India in the starting XI, as the team management relied their trust on regular openers, KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan.

Pankaj Shaw quoted he was not there with Prithvi when he made his debut in the Ranji Trophy, where he scored the century on his debut. The father wants to follow the same.

“I am not going to Rajkot. I prefer being at home. I wasn’t around too when Prithvi made his Mumbai Ranji Trophy debut last year against Tamil Nadu at the same venue,” ” Pankaj told mid-day over the phone from Mumbai yesterday.

“I am sure he will do well. I have nothing to tell him now. He knows his game well. He has to continue playing his natural game and not think too much,” he added to his lines.
