India vs Windies 2018: Khaleel Ahmed Has Skills to do Well at International Level - Bharat Arun

India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun believes rookie fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed has skills to do well at International level. Khaleel Ahmed has impressed with his performances in his young ODI career. Ahmed has shown good skills so far and he is going to get better with time. The southpaw pacer had bowled with a spark in the fourth ODI against the Windies.

Khaleel Ahmed scalped three wickets and gave away only 13 runs in his five overs. Ahmed was able to get the ball to move both ways as he landed his balls in the corridor of uncertainty. Furthermore, the left-hander who represents Rajasthan bowled his heart out. Thus, Ahmed’s spell was instrumental in skittling out the visitors on a mundane score of 153 runs.

“Khaleel looks a very exciting prospect. He’s sharp, has the skills to do well at the international level,” Arun said while talking in the pre-match press conference.

Meanwhile, India is producing quality pacers which haven’t been a norm in the folklore of Indian cricket. The Indian pace battery has shown an upward swing in their improvement graph. Ergo, Arun said the idea was always to create a strong pool of pacers.

“When we started off, the onus was on not only creating a pace bowling unit which would be a force to reckon with but we also needed a very good bench strength. To sustain fast bowling over a long period of time, you need to rotate these bowlers because you have to manage their workloads”.

“India plays at least 60 percent more cricket than the rest of the world. So workload management becomes very important. For the first time, I guess, we have a very good fast bowling quartet and also the bench strength is very exciting,” he added.

Khaleel Ahmed had also appreciated Bharat Arun in guiding him through. Ahmed’s International journey has just begun and he would like to keep coming up with good performances.
