Ashley Nurse, the pivotal player in the Windies setup, has been ruled out for the upcoming T20I series against India. Also, he was ruled out of the final ODI of the ongoing ODI series against India as well. Meanwhile, the skipper Jason Holder wishes a quick recovery for the off-spinner.

However, Ashley Nurse had received the man of the match award for his performance in the team’s only victory of the series. He smashed a stunning 40-run knock in Pune and followed it up by bagging wickets as well.

Speaking at the toss, Jason Holder quoted the off-spinner has sustained a shoulder injury in the 4th ODI and aggravated it during the practice session as well. As a precautionary, he was sent home by the team management.

“Ashley Nurse is ruled out for the entire tour. I wish him well. Hopefully, he can recover quickly for the next tour,” Jason Holder said.

Coming to the match progress in Thiruvananthapuram, Windies are reeling in the middle with their top-order batsmen once again failing to put on a show. Ravindra Jadeja has been brilliant alongside Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Apart from Ashley Nurse, they also dropped Chandrapaul Hemraj at the top-order and brought in Oshane Thomas in place of him. During the course, they asked Rovman Powell to open the innings.

It didn’t come out for Windies, as Powell struggled in picking the Indian bowlers. Though he got hung in the middle, he never really looked in control. Eventually, he pulled Khaleel Ahmed straight to Shikhar Dhawan. Meanwhile, Windies’ innings folded on 104.
