India vs Windies 2018: Twitter Reacts as Rishabh Pant Set to Make his Debut
Updated - 20 Oct 2018, 04:16 PM
Finally, the wait is over for Rishabh Pant to make his ODI debut for team India. He was always considered as the future for India in his teenage and finally, the day came to fly high for Delhi. He is all set to take the field in the first ODI of the India vs Windies 2018 series.
Of late, Rishabh Pant took the game of cricket by a storm with his willow. He is flowing his bat freely in the longer version of the game thus putting pressure on the selectors to bag his services in the limited-overs format of the game.
His emergence came to the notice when he smashed a scintillating century at The Kennington Oval, London alongside KL Rahul in the fifth Test. Later, the left-handed batsman hit a blistering 92 against the Windies as well.
Meanwhile, Manish Pandey is unfortunate to miss out the place in the ODI side for the first game. He has been travelling with the time for a long time now but the management considered to hand the debut cap to the Delhi lad.
Rishabh Pant set to bat at number five:
With Virat Kohli and Ambati Rayudu placed at number three and four respectively, Rishabh Pant will take the vacant number five position that was left by the Kedar Jadhav, who pulled his hamstring once again in the Asia Cup 2018.
Despite Rishabh Pant in the side, MS Dhoni will take the glovework for the team. Dhoni has been pretty sharp with his gloves and also helps the bowlers during the match as well.
Probably, it would be the best time for Pant to learn some tricks from MS Dhoni as well. Meanwhile, fast bowlers Shami and Umesh Yadav likely to make a comeback and the trio Chahal, Kuldeep and Jadeja will take spin duties.

Rishabh Pant to make his ODI debut tomorrow… Will play as a specialist batsman, while Dhoni will continue to be the keeper. No place for KL Rahul I'm the middle order. I reckon, fair selection…. #INDvWI https://t.co/d0suESOGtP

So..Debut confirmed for Rishabh Pant?
Go well, young man 🙂
Khaleel or Umesh? I'll go with the former. That's of course assuming Shami is an automatic selection. #INDvWI pic.twitter.com/xs1Jer8nMy— Abhishek Barthur (@imabhi27) October 20, 2018
Wicket keeping chance should be given to #rishabhpant instead of @msdhoni, so dhoni can help rishabh inbuilding his skills …

Rishabh Pant odi debut tomorrow ?
Hope he can turn as a finisher that India desperately needs @RishabPant777 #IndvWI— Mohan (@mohankrish9999) October 20, 2018
It's time for @msdhoni to let a younger gun like Rishabh Pant take his place. @BCCI and @imVkohli are too scared to drop him. Looks like he wants to play another world cup and then retire.
