India vs Windies 2018: India Announces 12-Man List for Guwahati ODI, Rishabh Pant Set to Debut

Finally, the stylish southpaw, Rishabh Pant is set to make his debut for team India in One day format of the game. Meanwhile, India announced their 12-member player list for the 1st ODI of India vs Windies 2018 five-match series, scheduled in Guwahati on October 21st.

However, India went with their regular openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma by leaving out KL Rahul once again. It seems like Virat Kohli is also convinced with the team management to keep KL Rahul as the third opener for the team.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli will take his regular number three position by asking Ambati Rayudu to demote his batting slot. Rayudu will be the new batsman to join in the musical chairs for the number four position.

Surprisingly, India asked Manish Pandey to warm the bench again. They are handing the debut to Rishabh Pant to test his skills at the middle-order against the Windies. He will also take the finisher’s role for the team as well.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni will do the wicketkeeper role for the team and will also take the number six position in the batting lineup.

The Saurashtra cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, who impressed with his heroics in the Asia Cup 2018 also embedded in the playing XI. But it is interesting to see whether India would go with three spinners or three fast bowlers.

Khaleel Ahmed might miss the game:

As usual, the two slots in the bowling department has been owned by the spin duo Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. The late entrant into the squad, Umesh Yadav also finds a place alongside the comeback fast bowler Mohammed Shami.

Meanwhile, Khaleel Ahmed is placed 12th on the list. All in all, India announced their 12-member list by covering all the bases with a fine talent.
