India vs Windies 2018: Watch - Virat Kohli Reacts as Mumbai Crowd Chants "Anushka"

Team India skipper Virat Kohli responded to the chants made by her wife’s name during the fourth one-day international against Windies at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, India stranded Windies by 224 runs to go 2-1 up in the five-match series with one match still to play. The men in blues registered a mammoth total of 377 runs in their quota of fifty overs. The innings revolved around a partnership of 211 between Rohit and Ambati Rayudu, both finishing with hundreds to entertain the crowd. While Rohit added 162 runs, Rayudu continued his superb form to notch a hundred.

In reply, Windies skipper Jason Holder only managed to offer some resistance at the fag end of the game. Khaleel Ahmed and Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball returning with three wickets each.

During India’s bid to defend their total of 377 runs, the Mumbai crowd at the Brabourne Stadium chanted the name of Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, who is also Indian captain Virat Kohli’s wife. In reply to the spectators’ chants, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli gestured thumbs up to the crowd before continuing with his fielding.

The incident unfolded in one of Ravindra Jadeja’s overs. The crowd suddenly began chanting the name of Kohli’s wife, probably to gain some attention or some reply from the skipper. And Kohli did reply. He gestured with a thumbs up towards the spectators. The entire incident was captured as a video and shared on social media and it soon became viral.
