Stuart Law, the head coach of Windies sheds light on the absence of the senior players from the Test format. The franchise cricket took away the Windies star players from the Test format thus making the things look bleak for the team from the Caribbean in Tests. However, Stuart Law feels the team should move on.
The absence of key players was clearly visible in the Rajkot Test when they were fallen apart in the pure batting conditions. They never looked like troubling the Indian players whatsoever right through the game.
Well, seniors’ experience would’ve been great – Stuart Law
He agreed to the point that it would have been great for the Windies team if the senior players were present in the dugout. However, it wasn’t the case, as the performers are choosing franchise cricket over National cricket.

Meanwhile, he also quoted one can’t force any particular player to take part in the specific game. Stuart Law wants the youngsters to understand the situation and come good for their nation on an international arena.
”Well, that would (have). But we can’t force people to play Test cricket. We got to make sure that we have young fellows in an environment where they are able to open up and speak the truth. Also, the coaching staff understands that they might have to be there a lot more than what you would have done in other set-ups,” Stuart Law said.

”These guys are great, they are responding and are understanding the game. That’s part of the battle — you need to understand what you can or can’t do. The more you understand that the easy it is to develop,” he added in an interview with Sportstar live.
However, Stuart Law said, one can’t force the player to play in the certain format of the game. It needs to be within the player to take the responsibility while representing the nation. Meanwhile, they prepare for the second Test against India in Hyderabad.
