India Women vs Malaysia Women Match Preview, Women Asia Cup 2022. India Women vs Malaysia Women’s 6th T20 match of Women’s Asia Cup 2022 is scheduled to be held on Monday, 3rd October 2022 at Sylhet Outer Cricket Stadium, Sylhet.

Women’s Asia Cup 2022, will begin on 01-10-22 and end on 15-10-22. A total of 24 matches are scheduled to be played in this Women’s Asia Cup. A total of 8 teams will participate in this Women’s Asia Cup 2022.

It was a welcome return for Jemimah Rodrigues to the national side as her T20I career-best 76, including a 92-run partnership with captain Harmanpreet Kaur, followed by a stifling show by the bowlers helped India begin their Women’s T20 Asia Cup campaign with a 41-run win over Sri Lanka at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

India Women were scoring at under a run-a-ball before Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur got together and helped India add 83 in the ten overs after the powerplay.

Jemimah Rodrigues smashed a 38-ball fifty in her comeback game that also helped India Women set Sri Lanka Women a target of 151 in the campaign opener on Saturday. After Shafali Verma (10) and Smriti Mandhana (6) departed early, Jemimah Rodrigues joined hands with Harmanpreet Kaur to stitch a 92-run stand for the 3rd wicket. Jemimah Rodrigues top-scored with 76 off 53 while Harmanpreet Kaur got 33  off 30.

After Jemimah Rodrigues’ magnificent 76-run knock, it was Dayalan Hemalatha who made a late entry and stunned the Lankans to the core. The latter was the pick of the bowlers, returning figures of 3 for 15 in 2.2 overs. On the other hand, Deepti Sharma and Pooja Vastrakar picked up 2 wickets apiece.

India Women 150 for 6 (Rodrigues 76, Harmanpreet 33, Ranasinghe 3-32) beat Sri Lanka Women 109 (Perera 30, Samarawickrama 26, Hemalatha 3-15, Vastrakar 2-12) by 41 runs

Pakistan Women, on Sunday, October 2, started their campaign in Women’s Asia Cup 2022 with a resounding nine-wicket win over Malaysia at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Academy Ground.

21-year-old Tuba Hassan was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4-0-13-2. The Young Turk also earned the Player of the Match award. Off-spinner Omaima Sohail picked up two wickets for the Women in Green.

Fast bowler Diana Baig and left-arm spinner Sadia Iqbal accounted for one wicket apiece. Elsa Hunter was the standout batter for Malaysia after she stayed unbeaten on 29 off 51 balls with three fours. Malaysia huffed and puffed to 57/9 in 20 overs. Pakistan chased the target down with 66 balls to spare losing only 1 wicket that of Sidra Ameen who scored 31 off 23 with five fours.

Muneeba Ali stayed unbeaten on 21 off 23 with three fours. Skipper Bismah Maroof came in and hit a four to finish off proceedings.

After going down to UAE in the final of the ACC T20 Championship, Malaysia blanked Singapore 3-0 in the Saudi Cup, as Elsa Hunter led the spoils with the bat. Her strike rate of 135 was by far the best among both teams, and alongside captain Winifred Duraisingam and deputy Mas Elysa, Elsa Hunter could be key to Malaysia’s fortunes. Right-arm seamer Sasha Azmi has also been in good form and was part of the last edition of the Asia Cup.
