Indian cricketers told to stay away from Mohammed Shami's case

Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami is battling it out in an unfamiliar territory lately. His wife Hasin Jahan had disclosed his affairs and also alleged the bowler of domestic violence on her Facebook post. Shami stood his ground ever since and denied all the charges against him, saying all these allegations are a part of a conspiracy to ruin his career.

Jahan accused him of possible match-fixing encounters while the cricketer’s playing career floats in hot water. His central contract was withheld by BCCI and there are clouds looming around his IPL career. The Indian cricketers have also stayed away from the controversy. Shami, who has been quite active on social media, often shares pictures with his teammates. While team India prepares to battle it out against Bangladesh in the finals of the Nidahas Trophy, not a single player has come out in support of the fast bowler yet.

According to a report by Xtratime, the cricketers have been briefed to stay tightlipped about the issue featuring Shami. Jahan has sent the documents backing her allegation on Shami’s fixing role to BCCI’s Committee of Administrators (CoA) chairman Vinod Rai. She alleged that Shami took money from a Pakistani woman named Alishba on the insistence of England based businessman Mohammad Bhai.

I want only one support from the BCCI. They should have a proper inquiry into the matter, thoroughly check all the details,” Shami told NDTV. “Taking money from a Pakistani and all this about going to Dubai has been wrongly clubbed together. I have never done anything wrong and neither will I ever do it in the future. This was a plan to tarnish my character and I request that this to be thoroughly investigated.” he said.

This was a family matter, which was taken to the public. All my teammates know how I am and what I can do. They have supported me in the past and I hope they will continue to support me. I have spoken to a lot of my teammates and some have even supported me publicly.” Shami added.
