Chief selector of Pakistan cricket team, Inzamam-ul-Haq, claimed to have 20 players in sight for the upcoming World Cup. Inzy reckons these players must start preparing themselves for the multi-lateral event in England next year.

Having said that, Inzamam had full faith in leadership abilities of Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed. The spirited captain successfully led the men in green in last years Champions Trophy.

“We have 20 probables in our sight. But I can’t tell you when the squad will be finalised and announced. It will happen a few months before the event,” quoted Inzaman-ul-Haq according to Business Recorder.

30-year-old, Sarfraz Ahmed, received a substantial amount of flak for the recent 5-nil drubbing in the ODI leg of the New Zealand series.

The captain leads the team from the front. We should know beforehand who is going to lead the team in the 2019 World Cup. Sarfraz’s leadership in the last year has been exceptional and there is no doubt that he will lead the team in the 50-over World Cup next year,” stated Inzamam-ul-Haq.

Sarfraz, currently, is leading the Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing edition of PSL. Ahmed received several words of praises from the likes of Kevin Pietersen in his squad, regarding his captaincy.

“Pakistan is lucky to have a captain like Sarfraz. He has a good cricketing brain. So, Pakistan Cricket Board should ensure him that he is going to lead the team in the World Cup.” suggested KP after his match-winning knock for the Gladiators.

The men in green visit Australia later this year for five one-dayers. Tentatively, Pakistan takes part in Asia Cup in India in September.
