The title sponsors of the Indian Premier League (IPL), VIVO which is the Chinese-based Smartphone manufacturing giant according to the fresh developments has roped in Bollywood sensation Aamir Khan as its Brand Ambassador while considering the massive campaign with the eleventh edition of the lucrative league kicking off in April.
“Vivo and Aamir Khan are working with the brand’s creative agency for the grand IPL campaign,” a senior official was quoted as saying by InsideSport
The VIVO management has been in talks with the Mr Perfectionist which will be the third edition for the title supporter after scooping the massive five-year deal to hold the title rights in the later quarter of 2017.
According to the media developments, Aamir is expected to replace another Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, who has been with the company to promote the products since past little over one-and-a-half-year.
“Ranveer Singh is on his way out,” the source reiterated.
For the five-year deal which was spread over 2018 and 2022, Vivo is supposed to give away INR 440 crore every year as the sealing of rights has seen VIVO shelling out INR 2,199 crore for the half-a-decade cycle.
With the inclusion of a celebrity in the form of Aamir, the VIVO brand has expected a major contribution from Mumbai-based 52-year-old actor-cum-producer.
Moreover, the company has already expanded its business in India and has been investing heavily in strengthening the market with the Twenty20 league seen as the hottest property for the sponsors as Star India has already following the same business model.
Seen solely as the brand figure, Aamir has been focusing on the plans in detail when it comes to the endorsement deals as he is further fetching the maximum amount of INR 3.5 crore.
In 2008, Aamir promoted the Korea-based Samsung giant through the mobile phone which further saw him yielding desired results for mega-company.
Alongside Virat Kohli, who is topping the endorsement table with the whopping amount of INR 5 crore, Shah Rukh Khan, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is also taking out the amount of INR 3-3.5 crore as badminton star P.V. Sindhu takes away INR 1-1.25 crore.
