IPL 2018: Batting in the Middle-order Wasn't Working Out, Says MoM Jos Buttler

England swashbuckler, Jos Buttler, starred yet again in the much-needed win for Rajasthan Royals over comfortably placed Kings XI Punjab.
This is now the third successive occasion where Buttler scored a half-century, batting at the top of the order. Previously, the England International was languishing in the middle order.
Buttler kept the Royals’ innings together during his knock of 82, which helped the hosts reach a score of almost 160. Then, the likes of Ish Sodhi and Krishnappa Gowtham trapped Kings XI in their spin trap.
However, the Rajasthan Royals’ pacers supported the good work from the spinners at the death and helped the team clinch a couple of points.

While receiving his man of the match memento, Buttler mentioned that it was not working out in the middle order and the change in position caused a change in fortunes.
“Nice change for me; wasn’t quite working in the middle. Didn’t capitalize on a few good opportunities. Change in position worked wonders,” Jos Buttler told Sanjay Manjrekar during the presentation.
On a difficult track to bat on, not assisting his flamboyant style of play, Buttler managed to score half of the runs registered by the Royals.
“Was hard to work out what a good score is. After the powerplay, you thought 180 is a good total but then it started to spin. You were never quite at home (on this pitch),” revealed the English wicketkeeper-batsman.
In conclusion, Jos Buttler stated that the only way now is up for the Royals.
“With the field up, you have got a lot of options. With the ball hard, opening position is a very good place to bat. Boys played well as a team, so we can take that confidence in the next game,” concluded Buttler.
