Former Australia legend, Shane Warne, who is currently with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) side as a mentor has lauded Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli for his go-getter attitude.

Meanwhile, Kohli has received a fair share of criticism for skipping the Afghanistan Test. However, he will play County Cricket for Surrey to prepare for the upcoming Test series against England.

Kohli has had a poor record last time he visited England. He struggled to tackle the pace and swing from the England seamers. The India skipper had scored 134 runs in ten innings.

Warne, who is due to leave India soon has lauded Kohli’s decision. He also praised the Indian skipper’s tenacity saying he is keen to score in England.

Kohli better than Sachin while chasing

Warne’s battles with Sachin Tendulkar were the stuff of legend; some that he won and in quite a few of them where he finished second best.

Talking about the comparisons between both the batsmen, Warne believes Kohli is better while chasing.

I think the way Virat plays and you look at his numbers and it’s uncanny how many times he has got hundreds in ODI cricket chasing totals down. I don’t think anyone, not even Sachin could do what Virat’s done,” Warne told to India Today.

Moreover, the legendary spinner labelled Kohli as the best in the business. He also noted that after ten years, Kohli would be in the same league as Sachin.

Virat is as good as anyone that I have seen plays the game. Wonderful, terrific player, I love his energy and passion. I am sure when he finishes in ten years or so he will be spoken about in the same breath as Sachin,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, Warne’s team Royals have picked at the right time in IPL. They have won back to back games and are well in line for the playoffs.
