IPL 2018: I Find Virat Kohli Incredibly Inspiring - Brendon McCullum

Former New Zealand skipper, Brendon McCullum said he finds Virat Kohli incredibly inspiring. Both McCullum and Kohli are currently playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing Indian Premier League.

Former Kiwi captain heaped praises on Kohli for the fitness regime he follows. Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper is one of the fittest players going around in the cricket world.

Virat Kohli has taken his game to the next level.

Kohli is playing at the top of his game. Consequently, Virat Kohli is regarded as one of the best batters in the world, especially in the white ball form.

When McCullum was asked about how he feels to play under Virat Kohli, the wicketkeeper-batsman said,

“Well, I find Virat is really inspiring. The energy that the guy like him has is just phenomenal. He has identified that he wants to try and make a change not just to the way people approach cricket or to the way they live their life within a cricketing environment.”

Virat has focussed his energy on fitness.

Brendon McCullum further added Virat Kohli is responsible for inspiring people in the fitness regime. McCullum further added,

“But he also feels responsible to be able to uphold fitness standards, health standards throughout India. He is in a very privilege position where he can inspire people, and he understands it. I feel incredibly inspiring myself that he is self-aware of those responsibilities.”

The former Kiwi captain added Virat Kohli has strong leadership qualities. McCullum added,

“He is able to play at such a consistent level in his own game. I am sure that as this tournament deepens we will see that those are really strong leadership traits”.

The India captain has taken his game to the next level, and the same confidence has reflected in his leadership as the Indian captain.

Kohli has worked hard on his fitness, and he is reaping fruits for the work he has done on his game.
