Mumbai went on to win the must-win tie by 3 runs.

With the game now done and dusted, here is a look at some interesting numbers and stats:

3. The 3-run loss is Kings XI’s second narrowest defeat in the IPL in terms of runs. Royal Challengers Bangalore had beaten them by 1 run in 2016.

4. Jasprit Bumrah picked up only his second Man of the Match award in the IPL for finishing with figures of 3 for 15. His previous award came last year when he recorded figures of 3 for 24 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

5. Rahul‘s 94 is one of the eight 90+ individual scores coming during unsuccessful IPL chases. He had earlier scored an unbeaten 95 in the defeat against Rajasthan Royals which makes him the first player to score two 90s in unsuccessful IPL chases.

6. Rahul has now scored 482 runs while chasing in this season. These are the moost for any player in a single IPL edition. He surpassed David Warner’s tally of 468 runs during the 2016 season.
