Delhi Daredevils wicketkeeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant became the leading run-getter as a wicketkeeper in an Indian Premier League season with 684 runs under his belt in IPL 2018.
Pant was able to leapfrog Kolkata Knight Rider’s Robin Uthappa tally of 660 runs.
When Pant scored his 41st run in the match against defending champions, Mumbai Indians, he went past Uthappa’s record which the latter achieved in the 2014 edition.

Rishabh Pant is batting at the top of his game.
Pant was able to score 64 off just 44 balls. Furthermore, this knock also helped Rishabh Pant going past Kane Williamson, as the leading run-scorer in the ongoing season.
The southpaw has scored 684 runs in this season. However, this was Pant’s final inning in the IPL 2018, as Delhi Daredevils are already knocked out of the tournament. But Willamson will have his opportunity to take over from Pant, as SRH had qualified for the playoffs stages.
Pant played some blistering knocks in the ongoing season. The Delhi gloveman scored his runs at an average of 52.62 and struck at an impressive strike rate of 173.60. The combative batsman scored five fifties and one hundred in the ongoing season.

However, Pant record could get broken in the next match. Kings XI Punjab wicketkeeper-batsman, KL Rahul has 652 runs under his belt. Thus, Punjab flamboyant opener will need 35 more to go past Pant’s record.
Jos Buttler is next on the list, as Rajasthan Royals wicketkeeper-batsman scored 548 runs in this season.
However, Buttler has returned to England. Thus, the current season of the IPL is dominated by the wicketkeeper-batsman. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has also looked in top form, as he has scored 430 runs in this edition.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik had accumulated 510 runs in the 2013 edition, whereas, Adam Gilchrist gathered 495 runs in the 2009 season.
