Young sensation, Rashid Khan, was retained by his former franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad for an amount of Rs 9 Crore. Kings XI Punjab bought him for an amount of Rs 9 Crore, but when the auctioneer asked whether SRH would use their RTM card on him, they did not take even a single minute to raise their RTM card.
Rashid, who is still eligible to play U19 World Cup, was the find of the last IPL season when he played for SRH and scalped 17 wickets. He took IPL auction by storm when the franchise purchased him for an amount of 4 Crore, which took everyone by surprise.
His prowess in the previous season has seen him going for a humongous amount again. Rashid attracted the attention of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab – who purchased him – but SRH used their RTM card on the leggie.
Along with IPL, Rashid also shone in international cricket as he was the third highest taker in T20Is with 17 wickets alongside his name while in ODIs, he was the second highest wicket-taker with 43 wickets in 2017.
