Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) mentor Virender Sehwag has lambasted reports over his clash with Kings XI co-owner Preity Zinta. The duo were reported to have fallen out after the game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in which Punjab could not chase a target of 158.

However, after the reports surfaced, Preity slammed Mumbai Mirror following the allegations. Meanwhile, Sehwag also expressed his anger as he rubbished the reports.

“These reports are baseless… all rubbish,” Sehwag told India TV.

On Friday, a report in Mumbai-based newspaper Mirror suggested that Sehwag was at “the receiving end of a vitriolic verbal barrage from Bollywood actress Preity Zinta after the Kings failed to chase a modest target”.

According to the report, the duo fought over the tactics used in the game.

Opening batsman KL Rahul was the main man in the batting order and found little support from other players. This crumbled Punjab to an unlikely defeat against the Jaipur-based outfit.

KXIP on track despite the loss –

One of the major favorites ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018, Kings XI had definitely lived up to the billing. The franchise went in with a completely new team and the coaching staff did the very good job of getting results this season early on.

Skipper Ravichandran Ashwin has been phenomenal as the skipper with his tactics. Despite their poor loss to Rajasthan, Punjab would like to stage a strong comeback. The Punjab-based outfit so far managed to win six games out of 10 games.

Rahul and Chris Gayle bore the brunt of their batting. However, the middle order is yet to be tested which could be a problem for them going into the playoffs.

Punjab will next face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an important game on Saturday (May 12) evening in Indore.
