Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja dropped two simple chances in the second over off KM Asif against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) which cost them the match at the Eden Gardens.

Meanwhile, this is a rare occasion for Jadeja, who is known for his outstanding fielding abilities. As a result, Sunil Narine struck a 20-ball 32 to provide the home team with a blistering start.

Young Shubman Gill (57*) and skipper Dinesh Karthik (45*) played decent knock to see their team through. While Gill brought his first IPL fifty, Karthik went after the bowlers. The duo chased down the target with 14 balls to spare.

Previously, Chennai posted 177 runs on the board with all the batsmen chipping in with useful contributions. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was once again at his usual best, as he hammered 43 off just 25 balls to post a challenging total.

However, some decent overs from KKR bowlers ensured the total doesn???t go out of reach.

Jadeja drops two back to back catches

Jadeja poor show escalated when he put down two sitters early in the innings of Kolkata. On the fifth ball of the second over, Narine slapped the shortish delivery to mid-off where Jadeja spills it out. He tried to take it on the second attempt too but failed even then.

He then dropped one the very next ball. Narine went hard at a shortish delivery and miscued it to Jadeja at mid-off. He jumped to take it but failed yet again. Meanwhile, this cost CSK the match which came back from a good run.

However, CSK will look to make amends for their loss when they face Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday.
