The City of Joy- Kolkata will host two key clashes of the playoffs. One is the Eliminator between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Wednesday (May 23).

The weather at Kolkata has been gloomy for the cricket fans as frequent showers have been hitting the region in the last 24 hours.

With the Indian Premier League (IPL) reached its business end stage with the majority of playoffs scheduled at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Meanwhile, table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), post heart-breaking defeat against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), play the winners of the Eliminator clash in Qualifier second on May 25 (Friday).

Two of the remaining matches of the playoffs is scheduled to be played at the iconic Eden Gardens, and rain is supposed to play an integral part in the results of the matches.

That said, the question arises, who would progress to the virtual semi-finals of the tournament. Who would face SRH at Qualifier 2, if and when rain plays spoilsport?

Much like Sunrisers had the advantage over the Super Kings on Tuesday (May 22) due to their superior position in the IPL points table.

The Knight Riders have the advantage over Royals in the upcoming match, if rain intervenes owing to the proceedings.

If we look at the points table of the round-robin stage of the tournament. KKR booked the third spot with 16 points to their name.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan just sneaked into the playoffs with 14 points to their name.

Therefore, the Knights have the advantage of the Royals, if the rain would force the Eliminator to be abandoned.
