IPL 2019: Beuran Hendricks Replaces Injured Alzarri Joseph for Mumbai Indians

South African southpaw seamer Beuran Hendricks has replaced injured Alzarri Joseph in the Mumbai Indians squad. Joseph was sidelined for the whole tournament as he had suffered a shoulder injury. In fact, Alzarri Joseph had earlier replaced Adam Milne in the squad.

Meanwhile, Joseph had made a sublime start for the Mumbai Indians. The Carribean fast bowler was right on the money on his debut match as he came up with the best bowling figures in the IPL history. The lanky fast bowler had scalped 6-12 in his maiden match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Joseph had made most of his height as he was able to bring his best to the table. However, Joseph’s performance was turned upside down in the following matches. He could not even get close to the rendition of his first match.

In fact, the Windies fast bowler went wicketless in the next two matches he played for three-times champions. Thus, he took six wickets in the three matches he played in the Mumbai Indians colors.

On the other hand, Beuran Hendricks has thus far played two One Day Internationals and 10 T20I for the South African team. The left-arm seamer has scalped one wicket in his young One-Day career and he has snared 16 wickets in the shortest format of the game.

Furthermore, he has featured in seven Indian Premier League games. He had made his debut in IPL 2014 for Kings XI Punjab. He has taken nine wickets in his IPL career.

Consequently, the Proteas seamer will once again look to impress in the cash-rich tournament.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians is at third place in the points table. The Rohit Sharma-led side has won six matches out of the ten they have played.

The Men in Blue will play their next match against the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings on 26th April at Chennai. Mumbai had earlier beaten CSK by 37 runs in the ongoing season.
