Shikhar Dhawan is one of those cricketers, who got immense limelight through the Indian Premier League. He always played a brilliant hand for his franchises over the years and now, he returned to his home franchise for Indian Premier League 2019. Meanwhile, he expressed his happiness for returning back to his home state-based franchise.

Sunrisers will miss the services of Shikhar Dhawan, who has been pretty extraordinary for the team over the years. However, Dhawan would be happy to get back to his local team, who are desperately waiting for the coveted Trophy.

In exchange,  Sunrisers Hyderabad received the services of Shahbaz Nadeem, Vijay Shankar, and youngster Abhishek Sharma. Perhaps, it would be a good deal for both the sides, as all the players are in brilliant form.

The stylish southpaw quoted that he is happy to be back for Delhi Cricket. Dhawan added that he played a lot of cricket for Delhi since his childhood and pretty aware of the conditions back home, which would do a world of good for him in the upcoming edition of the tournament.

Further, he went on to recall those moments when he played with the greatest players in the initial phase of his IPL career. He revealed that he has learnt a lot from the stalwart players during his time with them. Shikhar Dhawan opened innings with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Adam Gilchrist and Sehwag during his career.

“Ghar Wapasi ho Gayi hai Ji meri, (It is a homecoming for me) This is where I grew up. So, it’s good to come back. On the cricket front, it’s good that I will be playing half my games at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground and I have played there for so many years that I know the ground and the pitches there,” Dhawan told Times of India.

“I’m adjusting well to it actually. I’m bringing 11 years of experience. I was a rookie back then. learnt lots of stuff from all the senior players- AB de Villiers, Viru Bhai, Gauti Bhai, (Glenn) McGrath, Daniel Vettori. I remember all of them.”

Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for Shikhar Dhawan in the upcoming season. Most probably, Delhi Capitals would be a determining unit to bag the trophy, as they never touched it so far in the IPL history.
