Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) claimed an important 34-run victory against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Eden Gardens (Kolkata) on Sunday (28th April) night.

After losing the toss, the host side KKR scored 232/2 (20 overs) in the first innings. In reply, MI was restricted to 198/7 (20 overs) in the second innings.

i) Rohit Sharma becomes the first MI captain to lead the side in 100 IPL matches. Meanwhile, he is the fourth captain in IPL history to lead 100 or more matches. MS Dhoni (169 matches), Gautam Gambhir (129 matches) and Virat Kohli (108 matches) were the first three players in this list.

ii) Hardik Pandya completed his half-century in just 17 balls which is the fastest half-century by an MI batsman. The previous record holder was Harbhajan Singh who had completed his half-century in 19 balls against Kings XI Punjab at Mumbai on 12th April 2015.

iii) The right-handed middle-order batsman Hardik Pandya scored 91 runs in this match. It is the third highest individual score by an MI batsman against KKR. Rohit Sharma is the top two record holders with 109* and 98* runs.

iv) Hardik Pandya becomes the fifth MI batsman to score 1,000+ T20 runs. By the end of this match, he has scored 1,021 runs for MI.
