IPL 2019: Sunrisers Hyderabad Confirms The Trading Of Shikhar Dhawan

Recently, there were reports surfacing that Shikhar Dhawan has been traded with Delhi Daredevils in return of three players. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad officially confirms the news by releasing a press note on Monday (November 5th). So, from IPL 2019, Shikhar Dhawan will be seen in his state franchise Delhi Daredevils’ colors.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad will receive the services of Shahbaz Nadeem, Vijay Shankar, and youngster Abhishek Sharma. Though the names look ordinary, it might give a good balance to Hyderabad franchise.

Sunrisers will miss the services of Shikhar Dhawan, who has been pretty extraordinary for the team over the years. However, Dhawan would be happy to get back to his local team, who are desperately waiting for the coveted Trophy.

In the media release, Sunrisers Hyderabad said they will be making the trade with a heavy heart. Further, they also welcomed the youngsters into the side as well.

”It is with a heavy heart that we announce that one of our long-standing members Shikhar Dhawan will be moving to another franchise in IPL 2019. Sunrisers are delighted to pick Shikhar Dhawan by using one of its RTMs in the earlier auction. Unfortunately, the player hasn’t been settled for the amount he has been bought for, which unfortunately we cannot rectify, as per IPL rules,” the statement said.

”The franchise has took the decision to trade Shikhar, as it is best for both the parties. Sunrisers Hyderabad value the great contribution of Shikhar and saddened that due to financial reasons, he feels it’s time to move on. We wish him and his family, all the best,” the release added.

On the other hand, it is a comeback for Vijay Shankar, who made his debut in the Indian Premier League with Sunrisers Hyderabad. The addition of in-form Shahbaz Nadeem and the young-all-rounder Abhishek Sharma will do a world of good as well.
