Chennai Super Kings batsman Suresh Raina has sparked a new controversy after liking a Tweet which said that he was sidelined from the Indian team due to politics. Raina last played in the Indian colours in the T20I series against England in 2018. However, his performance was not up to the mark and he was then shown the exit doors from the India National Cricket Team.

Meanwhile, Raina could not get going in the domestic circuit while playing for Uttar Pradesh. In fact, the southpaw batsman was also dropped from Uttar Pradesh team and Akshdeep Nath was appointed the new captain.

Suresh Raina is the epitome of sportsmanship.

On the other hand, Suresh Raina’s performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League was not up to his usual standard. Raina has thus far amassed 375 runs in the 16 matches of the season at an average of 25 and strike rate of 125. The left-hander also became the first batsman to score 5000 runs in the Indian Premier League. In fact, Raina has scored more than 400 runs in every season of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina once again showed that he always plays the game in the right spirit. Raina tied shoelaces of Delhi Capitals wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant in the second qualifier which Chennai Super Kings won by six wickets. Raina scored 11 runs from 13 balls and he was dismissed by Axar Patel when he tried to cut a ball which was close to his body.
